I got the phone call at around 12:30, dad was in the hospital and really unwell. I got there as fast as I could, and for the first time in my life I had to face the fact he won’t be here forever. I thought like he had suffered a stroke. It turned out not the be as serious.
Thankfully, he is fine now and doing great, but it was really scary at the time.
I have to say the nurse staff and doctors at the Bathurst Base were so professional, so caring and really good at their jobs. I am extremely thankful for how they took care of dad.
It got me thinking about the difference in approach to health between chiro and medicine.
In an emergency, when your life is on the line, we are so lucky to have the very best in emergency health care in the world.
Too often though, these emergencies can be prevented. All too often people end up in a critical life and death situation as a result of bad lifestyle choices… Smoking, drinking too much alcohol, not watching what we eat, not exercising regularly – in short not taking care of our bodies.
Eating properly, exercising regularly and getting adjusted are not luxuries – they are necessities.
If you are having a heart attack, you need to get yourself to hospital, a lifestyle change is not going to cut it now. You need the doctors and nurses at the hospital to save your life.
If your cholesterol is high, your blood pressure and blood sugar high you are on a collision course for heart disease/diabetes/stroke and ultimately the ER.
But by making specific changes to your lifestyle, you can turn things around – more often than not without the need for drugs and medications.
Stop the madness – Get Adjusted!
