How would you like to see 10 years into your future? How would you like to know what your health will be like in 10 years? If you’re 30 now, what will you be at 40? If you’re 50, what will you be at 60? Some people read their horoscopes or spend $50 for a tarot card reading, but I have a much easier and more accurate way to predict your future. It has nothing to do with the stars or a crystal ball—but I’m willing to bet its accuracy against any other method. Are you ready to see 10 years into your future?
You can guess where someone’s life is headed by the actions they take. This is true of all areas of life. Your health is no different. I can predict what your health will look like in 10 years by looking at your lifestyle now. Most people conform to the “normal” standards society sets – its normal to be too tired to exercise, to eat processed foods, to look for a ‘quick fix’. And it’s normal to get “common” results.
Unfortunately heart disease is common. Kills 1 in every 3 Australians. It’s common, but it’s ain’t normal. Obesity is common, but not normal. Cancer is common, but I can assure you it’s not normal.
The masses conform to what is normal and so their future is easy to predict. A normal woman, working at a normal job, not exercising, paying no attention to what she eats, giving no thought to her health or body except when popping a pain pill for a neck ache or headache will never be healthy. In fact, her health is on the decline, and she is steadily marching towards diabetes, heart disease and/or obesity.
If you want to be healthy in 10 years from now – there are only two options you can be growing in health or declining in health… that depends on what you start doing today. Those who are going to be healthy are out there making it happen, day by day, meal by meal, exercise by exercise. They are in control of their health. Those who remain do “what everyone else is doing” are going to get what everyone else is getting. They will become victims of their own body, it will fail them before their time is up.
It is a shame to see so many people just doing what they need to do in order to survive. I have met thousands of healthy people, and none of them ever blamed their genetics. They will tell you they workout every day. They plan their meals, and choose simple unprocessed foods. They limit their alcohol. They don’t smoke. They also manage their stress and use natural manual therapies to maintain and enhance their health.
This is why if you want your health to be any better in 10 years time you can no longer just follow the masses. The masses react – they get a pain so they pop a pill. The healthy prevent disease. They look after their body to prevent the problem occurring in the first place. If you want to break free start here – think in terms of expansion – how can you become healthier? Not how can you avoid disease.
If you decide to get healthy act now. Do something immediately to improve your health. Drink a glass of water. Go for a walk. Commit to doing it every day. This is your youth. Tomorrow you’re another day older. Next year you will be a year older. We ain’t gettin’ any younger!
Here’s your crystal ball: 10 years from now will surely arrive. How you choose to meet it is up to you. Take action, move forward. Create the health you deserve and your family deserves of you.
Your health does not depend on luck, it does not depend on genetics, it does not depend on your age. It depends on the things you do consistently, every single day. You are in control.
